Three Hidden Benefits To Exercise

There’s a lot going on when you exercise. While people may think that exercise—or more specifically, resistance training—is just for people that are “vain” or want to improve their strength and physique, this isn’t the entire story. And other than the superficial gains that most people attach to the effects of training, there are far more benefits than that.

For starters, the right kind of exercise can improve your mood and your ability to deal with stress and anxiety. It can ward off diseases—including brain deterioration related ones, too. It can improve your energy and allow you to eat more calories. Not only all of that, but exercise can also improve your confidence and learning skills.

Of course these are just some of the more talked about benefits to exercise. But they aren’t the only ones to be had. Let’s take a look at another three.

#1 Bone Strength

Nutrition certainly plays a large role in bone strength. Getting the right calcium, fluoride, magnesium, vitamin D, protein, and potassium is incredibly vital in the maintenance and formation process. But other than paying attention to your nutrition, engaging in roughly two to four sessions per week of resistance training can greatly improve your bone health. What this means is that your bones will become stronger and repair quicker.

This is—obviously—a great benefit for people of all ages, but perhaps most importantly, for the older generations.

#2 Posture

Lifting weights can greatly improve one’s posture. This is because strengthening your body not only activates muscles that are ideal for optimal posture, but the movements involved to get there also help you become more aware of how to carry yourself. So if you’d like to keep a Quasimodo reality off the tables in your future, then embarking on a proper exercise program can truly help.

#3 Agility

Exercising regularly can enhance your agility. By moving your body, strengthening it, and becoming more aware of it, your skills as a walking, running, dodging, climbing, hiking, jumping, swimming, tumbling human being can increase. While you may not be able to climb a tree as well as good ol’ Pooh there, your ability for agility will surely grow. What this means is that you won’t be afraid to try that random activity when you’re overseas, climb over that obstacle when you’re out on a hike, or move your feet efficiently to stop yourself from tripping over.

These are just three benefits to exercise that are often not mentioned. But what are your favourite benefits to exercise? Let me know in the comments down below 💪😎👍
