L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest – Honorable Mention: Under the Ice

In September, I was awarded an Honorable Mention award in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest for the third quarter of 2023. The rules for this contest? Write a work of science fiction and/or fantasy prose up to 17,000 words in length.

With thousands of people around the world submitting to this prestigious competition (5-10% of the entrants are selected for the Honorable Mention award), it was a surprise and a privilege to place. To make the award even sweeter, they were kind enough to send a physical award all the way across the globe to the Land Down Under.

The story selected to receive the Honorable Mention was a short story I wrote earlier this year titled “Under the Ice.” If you’d like to read it, feel free to click here.
